Anastasiia Starozhytska began her directing career in 2012 with the short film Deadline, written by her mother Mariia Starozhytska. The film won the Grand Prix at the Kinomedia festival and first place at the Kryvyi Rih Under the Stars film festival. In 2017, Anastasiia and Mariia made the feature documentary The War of Chimeras, a personal story about war, love, and death. The film won the Grand Prize at the 2017 Rivne International Film Festival, as well as critical and popular success.
