Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Andrés Livov began his artistic career at the prestigious Teatro Colón, where he cultivated his love of opera directing. Holding a Fine Arts degree from York University, he chose Montreal as his new base in 2008. Throughout his career, his interests have converged in the creation of documentary works that cast a dignified gaze on the people he encounters. He has produced and directed several short films, including Letters to the Prime Minister, winner of the 2015 Regard sur Montréal residency. He has also directed two feature-length documentaries (Welcome to Los Pereyra, Language Is a Love Story), which have been screened in theatres and festivals around the world. His most recent film, The Blueberry Blues, is an ode to the unifying power of storytelling and music, while highlighting the strength of resilience.
