Benjamin Pichery is a French filmmaker and author, best known for his work with the Image Department of the French National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance (INSEP). A former physical education teacher, he is the founder and editor of the Regards sur le sport ("Perspectives on Sport") documentary and publishing series. Together with philosopher François L'Yvonnet, he conceived and developed a body of intellectual and scientific work dedicated to the study of sport, drawing on philosophy, anthropology, sociology, history, and other disciplines within the humanities and social sciences. Contributors to this project include Michel Serres, Edgar Morin, Philippe Descola, André Comte-Sponville, Isabelle Queval, Yves Coppens, Georges Vigarello, Axel Kahn, Boris Cyrulnik, Étienne Klein, Robert Redeker, Paul Virilio, and Joël de Rosnay. He also serves as series editor at Éditions Robert Laffont, where he oversees the Homo ludens collection, and at Éditions Amphora, where he directs the Penser le sport ("Thinking Sport") collection.
