Camilla Jämting is an experimental filmmaker and performance artist from Gothenburg, Sweden. Her work explores the inner lives of individuals, often focusing on the tension between what they seek to conceal and what they choose to reveal. Shaped by her background in the arts and her experience as an emergency care nurse, her practice is both raw and incisive, carried by a direct style infused with humor. She recently graduated from the Filmkunstskolen in Kabelvåg (University of Tromsø), where she earned a bachelor’s degree in moving images. Her first film, Project Dad, an autobiographical short about her complex relationship with her eccentric father—a pickup artist coach—has screened internationally and received several awards.
Camilla doesn't have a typical dad; he is a pickup artist who teaches other men how to succeed in dating on Tinder, and he also engages in spiritual development, such as imaginative affirmations and icy topless walks inspired by Wim Hof. Camilla is an artist and a feminist, and there isn't much she and her dad agree on, but despite that, they share a strong bond.
