Etienne Chaillou is a French director born in 1981. With a degree in Animation from the Arts Décoratifs de Paris, he has been co-directing films with Mathias Théry since 2006. Together, they seek new narrative forms to explore the constant questions they ask themselves in their films. As well as science, they address sociological topics such as family and the heated debate about the law for marriage for all in the film La sociologue et l'ourson, released in cinemas in 2016 to great acclaim from critics and the public alike. Their latest film, La cravate was released in cinemas in 2020.
