Eugene Marner is a filmmaker and theater director who long collaborated with his wife, Carole. He directed several film adaptations of classic tales in the late eighties including Puss in Boots (1988) and Beauty and the Beast (1987). In 1996, Eugene and Carole founded Franklin Stage Company, an admission-free theater.
