Félix Lamarche is an independent filmmaker who explores the possibilities of documentary practice. He works in both short and long formats and is interested in both classical and experimental approaches to the language of film. He graduated in directing from UQAM's École des Médias in 2012, and in 2017 directed and produced his first feature film, Far Away Lands, winner of the Prix Pierre-et-Yolande-Perrault. He also released his first independent short, La frontière, winner of the Best Short Film award at the 2018 edition of Les Percéides festival. In 2019, he will complete a second short film entitled Ghost Lands. The film premiered at the 2019 edition of RIDM. In 2021, he made the short film A River in Winter and in 2022, the medium-length film A Night Song, which was selected at DOK Leipzig and at RIDM. His films have been shown at a number of festivals in Canada, the United States, Europe and Africa.
