Ghiath Ayoub was born in Yabrud, Syria, in 1989. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University. A videographer and sound recordist, he also gained experience in directing and production in Syria and Lebanon. He works with local and international NGOs, teaching visual communication and art therapy to Syrian refugee children in Lebanon. He is involved in several non-profit organizations, such as Humans of Syria, producing graphic works and short films that have been shown on websites and in exhibition spaces around the world. He is the co-founder of several open workspaces in Beirut. For several years, he worked with Saeed Al Batal on the documentary Still Recording (2018), about daily life in the then-besieged city of Douma, in Eastern Ghouta.
