Jacques Willemont, born in Picardy in 1941, is a French director of anthropology, archeology and history documentaries and interactive multimedia programs. The cinema takes a predominant place in his life at 18 years old. He then runs a film club at the PTT foyer in Cachan. Then comes the time of military service. His professional life began when in 1966 he entered the Institute for Advanced Cinematographic Studies (IDHEC) to become director of photography. At the same time, he studied ethnology at the Universities of Nanterre and Strasbourg. He is at the origin of two film festivals; L'homme regarde l'homme (1975), which became Cinéma du réel three years later, and Cris du monde (2013).
