JL Whitecrow is a Toronto-based artist and filmmaker from the Muskrat clan of the Seine River First Nation. With an MFA in Film Production and a BA in Philosophy, she creates independent short films that explore identity, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and more. JL Whitecrow loves to make genre films like fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and comedy because they allow for creative storytelling while exploring philosophical ideas. She has also worked as a writer, producer, and director on several documentary series, including Merchants of the Wild, Tenderfoot, and Bannock Stops.
