Born in 1948, Josiane Jouët is a French sociologist in information and communication sciences, professor at the University of Paris II. Her research focuses on the uses of information and communication technologies. Since the 1980s, she has been interested in the question of the differentiation of the uses of communication technologies according to gender. In 2002, she published the book Numérique, féministe et société. Today, she remains active in this field of research, notably by writing articles such as Le Web et les réseaux sociaux, la dernière vague du féminisme? in 2019.
