Born in 1979 in Teheran, Kaveh Bakhtiari moved to Switzerland at the age of 9. He studied Film at Lausanne University of Art and Design (ECAL), prior to directing in 2007 his short fiction film The Suitcase. His first feature film, Stop-Over , a documentary on illegal Iranian migrants, was released in 2013. It was presented at the Cannes Film Festival the same year in the selection of the Directors’ Fortnight.
