Klára Tasovská is a director, editor, and dramaturg born in Třebíč in 1980, in the former Czechoslovakia. She graduated from the New Media Department at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Documentary Film Department at FAMU in Prague. Her co-directed mid-length documentary essay Midnight (2010) was screened at several international film festivals. Her feature-length debut, Fortress (2012), directed together with Lukáš Kokeš, was awarded Best Czech Documentary at the Ji.hlava IDFF in 2012. Her film Nothing Like Before (2017), also co-directed with Kokeš, premiered at IDFA’s First Appearance Competition. Her latest film, I'm Not Everything I Want to Be (2024), was selected for the Berlinale.
