Laurence Bidal-Pouliot is an emerging director and screenwriter. She has a keen ability to observe and translate the authenticity of the unique worlds she creates or encounters into sincere and moving narratives. After earning her bachelor's degree in sociology, driven by her desire to portray and share the complexity of various social realities beyond statistics and scientific charts, she consecutively pursued two intensive programs in screenwriting and directing at Concordia University. Since that, she wrote, directed, produced, and edited her first short documentary, Never Fully Naked, while also contributing to several other feminist-oriented projects, including Ici-Jamais (FEM festival), Catin des Bois, and Butch Unveiled.
_Never Fully Naked_ is a full, authentic, and truthful immersion into stripper’s intimacy. Intended to de-stigmatize sex workers, this film follows the sacred beauty ritual of two best friends before their shift, while examining questions about general intimacy. It offers viewers another version of sex work—something unsensational and non-sexual, but nonetheless caring, tender, and beautiful.
