An experienced producer and lawyer, Lucille Veilleux co-founded Vent d’Est in 1979. She has produced early works of fiction and numerous feature-length documentaries, including two films that are part of Quebec’s cinematic patrimony, The Ballad of Hard Times and La guerre oubliée, for which she also conducted archival research. After holding executive positions at the NFB and SODEC, she became actively involved in the independent film community as a consultant and associate producer, and since 2006, she has put her vast experience to work for Wapikoni Mobile and Musique nomade. Honored by the Human Rights Commission in 2015 and Femmes du cinéma in 2019, Université Laval awarded her the title of Distinguished Alumna in 2021.
