Myriam Ben Saïd is a Tunisian filmmaker who immigrated to Montreal with her parents in 1998. With a Bachelor’s degree in Cinema from the University of Quebec in Montreal and a diploma in cinematographic scriptwriting, Ben Saïd explores themes of nostalgia, childhood, identity, and loss. She is an observer and a listener, with an artistic approach defined by her sensitivity. She aspires to be part of a diverse, inclusive, and feminist cinema. Her first film, Clémence, won the h264 award as well as the RIDM prize at the UQAM Media School's 2023 graduation film screening. The film was screened at the RIDM Soirée de la Relève Radio-Canada, Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma, Festival Filministes, FCVQ, and Plein(s) Écran(s). Myriam Ben Saïd is currently writing her next documentary film while working on post-production of her fiction short Les fourmis, for which she received an emerging artist grant from the CALQ.
