Stefan Pavlovic was born in The Netherlands in 1989 to parents in the diaspora, coming from former Yugoslavia. He first obtained a degree in film directing at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. In 2017, he was selected to take part in the Aristoteles Workshop documentary film residency in Romania. Mentored by Dutch filmmaker John Appel, he directed his third short film When the Dragon Came (2018). He then obtained a Master's degree from the Netherlands Film Academy. His research From filming intimacy to filming intimately is nominated for the AHK Best Work Prize and the Young Art Fund Amsterdam. Stefan Pavlović is currently based in Amsterdam. Looking for Horses (2021) is his first feature film.
