Thomas Riedelsheimer is a German filmmaker, cameraman and photographer born in 1963. He first developed a strong interest in photography before beginning to study documentary filmmaking in Munich. With his film Rivers and Tides about the land art artist Andy Goldsworthy, he gained an international reputation and specialized in films about art. He has won major national and international awards for his work. He is a member of the German and European Film Academies and teaches at a German film school. He is also a partner with Stefan Tolz in Filmpunkt, a film production company based in Cologne. In 2017, he made a new film about Andy Goldsworthy: Leaning Into The Wind.
