Thomy Laporte is a film and video artist his practice is in line with independent cinema. His work stands out for the accuracy and sensitivity of his gaze on human nature and his interest in the various questions raised by our relationship to territoriality. Valuing eclectic styles in art, defending the diversity of perspectives and forms that break free from cinema's obsession with narrative, his work is linked to the idea of ​​a materialist cinema that explores the physical qualities of the cinematic medium. He has produced fiction, documentary essays as well as experimental work using technical hybridization and found footage. He lives and works in Rimouski, Quebec in the Lower Saint Lawrence region.
