This is the story of a ball. A grand ball. Every summer, more than two thousand people flock from all over Europe to a corner of the French countryside. For 7 days and 8 nights, they dance again and again, lose track of time, brave their fatigue and their bodies. It turns, it laughs, it twirls, it cries, it sings. And life pulses.

The film opens on a country road early in the morning. In voice-over, Laetitia Carton tells her story, with the same voice that has accompanied us every film since she started directing. A sequence to give us time to prepare ourselves, which acts as a curtain raiser on the cascade of emotions ready to fall on us in an instant. Because we do not return unscathed from the Gennetines' ball, and the filmmaker is determined to make us live this crazy experience. To the sound of the musical instruments of the party, hurdy-gurdy, accordion, tambourine or clarinet, and by a composite cinematographic sequence, combining the sense of observation of a Frederick Wiseman and subjective and fictional camera games, the director leads us in a merry-go-round, and pushes us - a feat for a film - not to stay in front of our screens.
