*Imaginary Tales* is a feature-length documentary that paints a portrait of André Forcier as an auteur. It is the story of an exceptional filmmaker who is an essential part of the landscape and a pillar of our national cinema's identity. It is a unique opportunity to revisit his entire body of work, recognized as being strongly tinged with magical realism, through recreated scenes from each of his films. It is a journey through his world, sometimes appearing as a memory, a trace, or a recollection.

Under the sensitive direction of Jean-Marc E. Roy, André Forcier plays along: both as an actor and as a private individual. In a long interview conducted in a confidential tone, he reveals aspects of his history and filmography. For once, the camera is turned toward him, scrutinizing both the man and the monument of our cinema and following the creative meanderings of a singular mind. Thanks to the magic of cinema, Forcier crosses the fourth wall to slip into the worlds he has created and thus take stock of their reality. The result is a series of anachronistic encounters that move both the viewer and the filmmaker.
