Facing the camera, Godard discusses with a journalist from _Libération_ (off-screen, from behind) work, cinema, and television. Texts scroll across the screen. Little by little, Godard tries to explain what he is trying to communicate by creating this series and defining its limits.

There are several "Godards" jostling through this episode of Six fois deux. The one who has always existed, operating from within his own films, deconstructing them, throwing them into a state of crisis via dizzying mises en abyme. In the 1970s, he worked in a twosome with Anne-Marie Miéville, embracing and incorporating contradiction. This is the man who made Gilles Deleuze write: "Godard is not a dialectician. What counts with him isn’t two or three, or however many you like, it’s AND." The man of the 1980s, champion of the happening, the iconoclast of television and media apparatuses. After writing all of that in an attempt of periodization, one realizes how the above-mentioned Godards are one and the same: this being who is always researching, inventing, for whom nothing is pre-conceived - readymade- and for whom language is a perpetual creation.
