A graduate of Concordia University in film production, Catherine Legault is an award-winning director, producer, and documentary editor. For the past twenty years, she has edited numerous documentaries and fiction films presented internationally in festivals, theatres, and on television. She is the recipient of two Gémeaux awards for her editing work. In 2017, she received the Iris Award for Best Documentary Editing at the Gala Québec Cinéma for Family Demolition by Patrick Damien. She was nominated again in 2019 for Serge Giguère's My Mother's Letters, and in 2022 for Bobbi Jo Hart's Fanny: The Right to Rock. Catherine's work is appreciated for its sensitivity, fluidity, and ability to navigate a multiplicity of viewpoints. Art in all its forms, travel, family, and intergenerational transmission are themes that have often accompanied her in her editing practice. In 2016, Catherine founded Concerto Films. Her first feature documentary as director and producer, Sisters: Dream & Variations, has been shown internationally in festivals, cinema, and television. Catherine is currently working on her next documentary LARRY (They, them) which will be released in 2024.
