Vincent Munier is a French wildlife photographer and filmmaker, born in 1976 in Épinal. At the age of 12, he captured his first image using a camera given to him by his father, himself a naturalist. Since 2002, he has undertaken numerous documentaries worldwide, seeking to showcase the beauty of wild nature and shed light on endangered animal species. In 2015, Munier joined director Luc Jacquet and marine biologist and photographer Laurent Ballesta on a two-month expedition to Antarctica. This expedition resulted in the film Antarctica: Following the Emperor's Paths, a sequel to Luc Jacquet's highly acclaimed first feature, March of the Penguins. In 2021, Munier co-directed the film The Velvet Queen with Marie Amiguet, which won the César Award for Best Documentary Film. His photographs appear in international press and book publications. Munier has authored a dozen photographic works with various publishers. His images are regularly featured in exhibitions at photography festivals and showcased in galleries both in France and abroad. In 2010, Vincent Munier founded the publishing house Kobalann4. He has received several awards at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
